Toured this school in the process of relocating my family. Schools are only as good as their leaders, teachers, e.g. The truth is that there are very many dedicated teachers and administrators here who work for half the income they could make in other states. Collier County pays the people who clean up parks and beaches more than it pays teachers. Sheriffs make 3x what teachers with Masters' degrees make here. Naples places no priority on paying teachers who've not had not had a raise in years. Many students here are disrespectful and immature, ruining the learning experience for the others whose grass they will one day cut or tables they'll bus. In my opinion the school needs more disciplined leadership and with respect to the caliber of teachers, it needs to "water the flowers and not the weeds" and reward the teachers who go above and beyond to teach day after day (in the face of disrespectful students who ruin the learning experience because of their own low class upbringing and ignorance) and do so in order to enrich the learning and lives of the students who do care. The administration tolerates entirely too much mistreatment of the faculty and parents by the students.

School is awesome, the teachers best concern is to help the kids to get the best academic scores. Cooperating so the kids get a great discipline. I love the sports activities, the extra effort the teachers give to the kids to help them achieve their goals. I like JROTC, discipline, the way they work together to succeed. Plus the assistance kids gets to get the best GPA and great attitude for the future. Way to go Titans, you got it. Love it love it love it.

This school is by far the worst of Collier County and it is reflected by the school's grade. I made a huge mistake by allowing my kid to attend this school. Academics is not anywhere close to neigboring schools. This is directly related to the fact that they hired incompetent individuals at every level. From Principal down to assistants/aids. Last year I found only 2 students from Golden Gate taking SAT's and scored very low. Have seen individuals at jobs that simply should not be there. Teachers with exception of a few good genuine teachers are unattached and do not care for students progress or educational level. Very sad, sad, situation for many of it's student body. This might be the reason why so many leave the school.

Great student to teacher communication, just an awesome atmosphere to learn. If you want teachers who actually care about you and who are willing to spend a few extra (unpaid) hours a day to help you out personally, this is the school to go.

I'm currently a freshmen in Golden Gate High School and the first day of school I noticed that the school is much better than what people told me about it. The school doesn't get the credit it deserves. The school is very safe and the student body is very disciplined. The staff and faculty are always there to help you when you need them and are very good at what they do, thats why we have 2 Golden Apple teachers and many teachers of distinction. So the next time you here bad rumors about this wonderful school, don't believe them.

I think that Golden Gate High is a great school. It's very protective, and safe, however, it does have it's flaws... one of them being the whole 'football/basketball' favortism. It is very ture, soccer, track, swimming, baseball, etc., they don't get much attention. But, overall, I think the school is better than many other Collier County schools.

I am a student at Golden Gate High. While there are things I admire about our school, there are also things I dislike. Our principal is a very laid back guy (I like that about him) He doesn't blow things out of proportion and he always tries to deal with problems in a very dignified manner. The only thing that I really dislike, is the fact that the basketball and football players get way more attention than any other sport we have. It's as if they're showing favortism. Although Golden Gate is an overall good school, there are still problems that need to be resolved.

I was a student and class president at Golden Gate for the 06-07 school year. I was highly involved in the school and I was a well known student. I have discovered in my three years at Golden Gate that the administration, particularly the principal, do a great job of covering up their faults. I had much respect for the principal until I discovered his true character. Absolutely NO RESPECT is given to any sport other then football and basketball. The guidance department is terrible at aiding students at getting scholarships. The former Barron Collier Teacher Clique are the most power hungry, and uneducated teachers in the school. This review is 100% accurate from Jaeden Hamernik.
